Kaffe · a free, private bookshelf
A private readalong for you and your friends
A readalong is a simple way to read one book together without a strict schedule. Kaffe lets a private circle do this for free.
Create a circle and send its link to the friends who are joining. Then start a readalong on the Circles page: choose the circle, add one book, and each member sets their own status and progress. The circle can see overall progress, but nobody can change anyone else's. Nothing is posted publicly. Kaffe has no public feed and no user search.
When you're done, everyone can rate the book with stars and leave a short note (up to 280 characters) that the circle sees on the book. Your shelves keep growing too. Kaffe shows each member the books others in their reading circle loved that they haven't read, and lists books that two or more members want to read, which makes it easy to pick the next readalong.
Accounts need only a name and a password, with no email or real name. Kaffe is free, has no ads, and works in the browser on phones and computers.
Start your own reading circle: free, with just a name and a password. No email, no ads.
